EAM Dr S. Jaishankar to Represent India at Trump's Inauguration, Also Hold Talks on Bilateral Relations

EAM Dr S. Jaishankar

India's External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar will represent the Government of India at the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Donald J. Trump, who will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.

The invitation was extended by the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee. During his visit to the U.S., EAM Jaishankar will engage in meetings with representatives from the incoming administration, as well as other dignitaries attending the inauguration.

It might be recalled that Jaishankar met with Congressman Michael Waltz, Trump's nominee for National Security Adviser, to discuss the strengthening of the India-U.S. bilateral partnership and to exchange views on global issues.

This meeting, held during Jaishankar's official visit to the U.S. from December 24 to 29, marked the first high-level in-person interaction between the Indian government and the incoming Trump administration.
