There are indications that the train could be inaugurated on September 12, with the train rake expected to arrive in Durg on September 10 or 11. This will be the second Vande Bharat train originating from Chhattisgarh, which will feature chair cars but no sleeper cars.

For the inaugural run, the services of a locomotive pilot, TTE, and coach attendants are being reserved. Once operational, this Vande Bharat Express will provide a new option for travelers, allowing a day trip between Durg and Visakhapatnam.

The train will stop at several stations including Raipur, Lakholi, Mahasamund, Khariar Road, Kanta Bhanji, Titlagarh, Singapur Road, Rayagada, Parvatipuram, and Vijayanagaram before reaching Visakhapatnam. It will cover a distance of approximately 300 kilometers in about five hours. Maintenance of this train will be handled at the coaching yard in Durg railway station, making it part of the Raipur railway division’s operations.
