Double Murder

Raigarh News: The police in Raigarh have arrested three individuals in connection with the brutal double murder of an elderly brother and sister.

The accused, motivated by the desire to loot money, planned the killings. After the murders, the suspects fled to Delhi, but they were apprehended by the police in Jhansi.

The gruesome double murder in the Old Hatri area of Raigarh was solved by the police, who arrested three suspects. According to the police, the main accused had suspected that the victims, Sitaram Jaiswal, aged 78, and his 68-year-old sister Annapurna Jaiswal, possessed a large amount of cash. To steal the money, he, along with his girlfriend and another accomplice, executed the murders.

The police examined over 200 CCTV footage and, based on crucial evidence, managed to trace the suspects. The incident occurred in the Old Hatri area, under the jurisdiction of the Kotwali police station. On the night between January 12-13, the bodies of Sitaram Jaiswal and Annapurna Jaiswal were discovered at their home.

The matter was initially reported by their cousin, Ashok Jaiswal, and an unknown person was named as a suspect under section 103(1) BNS of the Indian Penal Code. SP Divyang Patel took the double murder case seriously and formed different teams under the leadership of Additional SP Akash Markam, CSP Akash Shukla, and Cyber Cell DSP Abhinav Upadhyay for the suspects’ arrest.

The teams, consisting of officers from the police department, forensic experts, and the cyber cell, meticulously examined the crime scene, gathering evidence. To identify the suspects, the police team analyzed over 200 CCTV footages from around the city, connecting the routes taken by the perpetrators.

Through this investigation, two suspects, Kishan Sharma and Atul Danseena, were identified. However, seeing the police's active efforts, the main accused, Kishan Sharma, along with his girlfriend Divya Sarathi and accomplice Atul Danseena, fled to Delhi aboard the Gondwana Express.

Kishan Sharma and Divya Sarathi reportedly planned to marry, which provided the motive for the crime. To track down the suspects, the Raigarh SP shared their photographs with neighboring districts. The accused were spotted traveling on the Gondwana Express by RPF personnel at Jhansi station.

Based on the circulated photographs, the RPF officials identified the suspects and detained them. The Raigarh police were notified, and they traveled to Jhansi to take custody of the three individuals. Upon interrogation, the three suspects confessed to their involvement in the double murder, leading to the resolution of the case.
