Depression over Odisha coast near Chilika Lake, likely to move over Chhattisgarh

The depression over Odisha coast near Chilika Lake remained stationary in past 3 hrs and centered at 0830 hrs of 20/7/24 over Puri. It is likely to move further North West across Odisha and Chhattisgarh but is likely to weaken gradually into a WML in next 12 hrs. This has been confirmed by Indian Met Department.

IMD further stated that light to moderate rainfall at many places (with spells of intense rainfall occasionally) accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning is very likely to occur over Vidarbha (Bhandara, Chandrapur, Nagpur & Wardha), Telangana, south Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, South Odisha,Andhra Pradesh, North Tamilnadu, Assam & Meghalaya and light to moderate spell of rainfall at a few places accomapanied with Thunderstorm & lightning is very likely to occur over Vidarbha (Gadchiroli, Gondia, Yavatmal, Amravati), Marathwada, Konkan, Kerala, Karnataka.
