DA comparable to that of central govt employees, BJP Parliamentarian makes demand, writes to Chhattisgarh CM
In a significant move, the BJP MP Vijay Baghel from Durg has urged the Chhattisgarh government to grant its employees a dearness allowance equivalent to that provided by the central government. In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday, Baghel emphasized that the government should fulfill the promises made in its election manifesto. He also requested the government to address pending issues, including the disbursement of dearness allowance and arrears.
In his letter, Baghel stressed the need for resolving these matters promptly, noting that the Chhattisgarh Employees Federation had personally met with him to express their dissatisfaction. He proposed that government employees be given a four-tier time-bound pay scale, and suggested aligning housing allowances with those of the central government. Additionally, he recommended increasing the cash compensation for earned leave from 240 days to 300 days, similar to provisions in Madhya Pradesh.
