In Bijapur of Chhattisgarh, an Assistant Commandant of CRPF got injured in an IED blast while on election duty near Chihka village of Bhairamgarh. Injured Assistant Commandant brought to Bhairamgarh Hospital for treatment.
This comes amid the voting underway in the Bastar Parliamentary constituency today.
It need be mentioned that security forces have mounted a major attack on the naxals few days back and caused major losses to the naxalites as 29 bodies have been recovered who were killed in the gunbattle that ensued.
Since then, the security forces are on alert wanting to avert any retaliation from the red rebels.
