Criminal's caste no longer needs to be recorded, announces Chief Minister
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav made a significant announcement on Emancipation Day, stating that police stations in the state will no longer ask about the caste of criminals.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the colonial-era regulations would be revised. He clarified that only the criminal is responsible for their actions, not the entire society.
Previously, the caste and community of the offender were recorded, but this will no longer be required. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's announcement marks a major change, reflecting a shift from the old British-era rules.
