Cricket now an Olympic game, IOC approves for 2028 Los Angeles event

In a significant breakthrough, the International Olympic Committee has approved proposal to include Cricket and four other new games in the 2028 Los Angeles games.

While two IOC members opposed the proposal, one chose to abstain from voting. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Mumbai during its voting session to include five new games including cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles games.

After the decision, IOC member Neeta Ambani reacted saying, “I am delighted that IOC (International Olympic Committee) members have voted to include Cricket as an Olympic sport in the LA Summer Olympics 2028″. 

Lacrosse, squash and baseball-softball have also been given a go ahead as Olympic sporting event.
