Crackdown on Illegal Infiltrators in Chhattisgarh: Hundreds Rounded Up in Raipur

Police Intensify Verification Drive After Durg, Kawardha; Strict Action Against Undocumented Residents
Raipur, January 30, 2025 – The crackdown on illegal infiltrators in Chhattisgarh is gaining momentum, with authorities now targeting undocumented residents in the capital city, Raipur.
Following similar operations in Durg and Kawardha, police have identified a large number of suspected infiltrators residing without proper documentation.
On Friday, nearly 2,000 individuals were rounded up from different parts of Raipur and transported to the police line for verification. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and other top officials were present at the scene to oversee the interrogation process.
Focus on Undocumented Migrants from Various States
Police conducted the operation in multiple police station jurisdictions, picking up individuals who were staying in the city without registering as travelers (musafiri records).
The verification drive primarily targets residents from West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Northeast India, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and other states. Authorities are using Aadhaar card machines to cross-check the biometric data of the detainees.
If any individual is found to be illegally residing in the city, strict legal action will be taken against them. This operation is part of Chhattisgarh’s ongoing efforts to curb illegal infiltration and ensure proper documentation of all residents.
The police have assured that genuine residents will not face any inconvenience, but those with false identities or no valid documentation will be dealt with as per the law.
