CPI(M) to Hold 8th State Conference in Surajpur on December 19-20

The 8th State Conference of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) is scheduled to take place in the coal belt town of Bishrampur, Surajpur district, on December 19-20, 2024. Over 150 elected representatives will participate in the event to deliberate on the party’s future direction and policies.

Key Leaders to Attend

State Secretary M.K. Nandi announced that several prominent leaders from the party’s All-India Center would attend the conference, including: Ramchandra Dome, Politburo Member Tapan Sen, Politburo Member Jogendra Sharma, State In-Charge and Central Committee Member.

Agenda of the Conference

The two-day event will focus on:

Review of the Past Three Years: An assessment of the party’s activities and achievements over the last three years.

Planning for the Future: Setting the direction and priorities for the next three years.

Election of New Leadership: Formation of the new State Committee.

Election of representatives for the All-India Congress to be held in April 2025.

Democratic Preparations

M.K. Nandi stated that ahead of the state conference, the party has completed all district, local, and branch-level conferences. These meetings were conducted democratically, with leadership elections already finalized at all levels. The upcoming state conference is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the CPI(M)'s strategies and policies for the years to come.
