The Congress Party will stage state-wide protests in Karnataka on August 19 in response to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's approval to prosecute Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the MUDA site allotment scandal. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, also the state Congress president, has called for peaceful demonstrations at district headquarters across the state. He has urged party members to avoid allowing anti-social elements to disrupt the rallies.

Governor Gehlot's sanction for prosecuting Siddaramaiah, based on complaints by T.J. Abraham, Pradeep Kumar S.P., and Snehamayi Krishna, has led to demands for Siddaramaiah's resignation from the BJP. However, Siddaramaiah has denied any wrongdoing and rejected the notion of stepping down.

In addition to the protests, Shivakumar has mobilized party leaders and workers to conduct a kilometer-long march to Taluk and district offices, where they will submit memoranda addressed to President Droupadi Murmu in opposition to the Governor's decision. He has accused the BJP and JD(S) of orchestrating a conspiracy to undermine Siddaramaiah and pledged to counteract these efforts.

As both the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP prepare for demonstrations, the controversy surrounding the MUDA scam continues to escalate, with the Congress framing the issue as a politically motivated attack.
