Congress brought peace to Mizoram, claimed party leader Rahul Gandhi in Aizawl. He is there to campaign for party in the poll bound north eastern state.
“The people of Mizoram are gentle, kind and affectionate. People with a strong sense of community. People who respect each other and also people with different ideas. It is something to be very proud of! You have a spirit of altruism”, he said speaking to a gathering.
“My impression of Mizoram was formed when I was 16 years old when I came here with my father in 1986. The people of Mizoram are gentle, kind and affectionate.”, the Wayanad MP added.
Congress MP undertook footmarch along with supporters from Chanmaari to Raj Bhavan in Aizawl. Congress is likely to announce candidates for the 40 seat state assembly during or after visit of Gandhi.
