Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav's father, Poonamchand Yadav, passed away on Tuesday evening at the age of 100. He had been hospitalized for a week in Ujjain.

Poonamchand Yadav was renowned for his resilience and dedication. Originally from Ratlam, he moved to Ujjain seeking better opportunities, starting his career in a diamond mill before opening a Bhajiya shop in Malipura and later a Dal-Bafla shop in Freegunj. Despite his advanced age, he continued to work personally in the market, demonstrating remarkable self-reliance.

He was deeply committed to his children's education, raising his sons Nandu, Narayan, and Mohan Yadav, and his daughters Kalavati and Shanti Devi, with a focus on providing them a better future.

The news of Poonamchand Yadav's passing has saddened his family and the broader community. His journey from a mill worker to a successful entrepreneur is remembered as an inspiring tale of perseverance.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, accompanied by his son Maha Aryaman Scindia, visited the hospital on Monday to check on Poonamchand Yadav's condition. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also visited his ailing father on Sunday.

Political leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP and Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, have expressed their condolences. Singh praised Poonamchand Yadav’s life and extended his sympathies to the bereaved family. The Chief Minister, who was in Bhopal for a BJP membership drive event, traveled to Ujjain upon receiving the news.

Poonamchand Yadav's passing has prompted numerous tributes, reflecting the respect and admiration he commanded throughout his life.
