Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy apologizes for remarks about K Kavitha’s bail, following Supreme Court criticism.

Chief Minister

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy apologized on Friday for his comments regarding the bail granted to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha in the Delhi liquor policy case. This apology follows a reprimand from the Supreme Court for suggesting a "deal" between the BJP and BRS in relation to Kavitha’s bail.

In a post on X, Reddy expressed his "highest regard and full faith" in the Indian judiciary. He clarified that recent press reports from August 29, 2024, may have conveyed the wrong impression that he was questioning the court’s wisdom. Reddy emphasized his strong belief in the judicial process and stated, "I unconditionally regret the statements reflected in the press reports." He also noted that his comments were "taken out of context" and reiterated his "unconditional respect" for the judiciary and its independence.
