Chhava teaser out, Ranveer Singh looks ferocious warrior, as he portrays valiant Sambhaji Maharaj
The teaser for "Chhava," which debuted before the screening of "Stree 2," has already stirred significant excitement. Featuring dramatic war scenes and intense character depictions, it offers an impressive first look at Vicky Kaushal as the valiant Sambhaji Maharaj. The teaser underscores his struggle to protect his realm and honor the legacy of his father, Shivaji Maharaj.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, known for films like "Mimi" and "Luka Chuppi," "Chhava" represents a bold shift from his previous work, exploring the intricate history of the Maratha Empire. Kaushal's portrayal of Sambhaji Maharaj is expected to be both majestic and nuanced, drawing comparisons to other historical figures in Indian cinema, such as Ranveer Singh’s Bajirao in "Bajirao Mastani."
The teaser also introduces Akshaye Khanna, whose role as a key character adds an unexpected and eagerly awaited element to the film. Vicky Kaushal recently shared the film's poster on Instagram, showcasing his character as a lone warrior battling enemies with swords in both hands. The teaser announcement was accompanied by a dramatic caption: “Unbowed. Unbroken. Unconquerable. The courage to defy an empire. #Chhaava Teaser Out In 1 Hour! The Warrior Roars... on 6th December 2024.”
The film, set for release on December 6, 2024, will compete with Allu Arjun’s "Pushpa 2: The Rule," marking Kaushal's second major box-office clash, following "Sam Bahadur," which faced Ranbir Kapoor’s "Animal."
Additionally, Rashmika Mandanna stars as Yesubai Bhonsale, Sambhaji Maharaj’s wife, bringing a personal and emotional depth to the story. The teaser hints at a powerful performance by Mandanna, further enhancing the film’s appeal. "Chhava" promises to be a compelling portrayal of the Maratha warrior king's life, blending historical drama with intense action.
