PSC Scam

On Wednesday morning, the CBI raided residence of Congress leader Rajendra Shukla. The raid is reportedly connected to the ongoing investigation into the PSC (Public Service Commission) scam in Chhattisgarh. The CBI team reached Shukla’s old residence in Yadunandan Nagar.

A 5 to 10-member team from the CBI arrived at the house and conducted the search. After the raid, the team left the premises. The investigation pertains to the PSC fraud case, which also involves allegations against Rajendra Shukla's son.

The CBI's action comes amidst widespread allegations of fraud and corruption in the PSC, involving illegal appointments of relatives of politicians and officials. The state government has entrusted the CBI with investigating this serious matter. Rajendra Shukla’s son, Swarnim Shukla, who is currently serving as a Deputy Collector, has also been named in connection with the scam. The CBI has raised questions about Swarnim Shukla during the investigation. Additionally, the team has visited a new house near the Hi-Tech Bus Stand. The CBI is examining various parts of the property and collecting necessary documents related to the PSC fraud case, and is questioning individuals involved.

The CBI has initiated raids in several locations including Raipur, Durg, and Bilaspur as part of the CG PSC case investigation. Among those raided were the residence of Congress leader Rajendra Shukla in Yadunandan Nagar, Bilaspur, and the home of former chairman Taman Sonwani. Additionally, there are reports that an Income Tax team also visited Taman Singh Sonwani's residence in Sarvada village. The Income Tax officials arrived with two vehicles for the operation but it is yet to be confirmed.
