Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has welcomed the Supreme Court ruling on Jhiram Ghati probe and resolved that the state police will be investigating the massacre of the 32 of leaders associated with Congress.
Terming the Jhiram Ghati massacre to be a political murder, Baghel noted that the political conspiracy part of the killing was never probed.
He was reacting to the Supreme Court ruling which rejected the NIA appeal in the case and thus opened the probe avenue for the state police as was demanded by Jitendra Mudliyar, who is son of Uday Mudliyar, one of the Congress leaders from Rajnandgaon who was killed in the Jhiram Ghati massacre.
Jhiram Ghati killings took place in 2013 which nearly wiped out the then leadership of Chhattisgarh Congress and though it was carried out by naxals, the party has been alleging that there is a political conspiracy behind it.
