Raipur: The Panchayat elections are approaching, and the Panchayat and Rural Development Department has released a new schedule for the reservation of wards.

The department has sent a letter to all district collectors, instructing them to begin the process of ward reservation today. The notification regarding this process will be published in all districts today, and the procedure is expected to be completed by December 30.

The state government has also announced the dates for the upcoming three-tier Panchayat elections. The Panchayat and Rural Development Department has issued a revised schedule for the reservation process for the 2024-25 Panchayat elections.

According to the released timeline, the publication of notifications for the reservation of District Panchayat members, Janpad Presidents, Janpad members, Sarpanch, and Panch positions will begin on Monday, December 23, and will be carried out by the respective district collectors.

The final notifications for these reservations will be published between December 28 (Saturday) and December 29 (Sunday). Further, the reservation information for these positions will be sent out by the collectors on Sunday, December 29.

Additionally, the reservation notification for the District Panchayat President will be published by the Director of Panchayats on December 23, with the final reservation details to be sent on Monday, December 30.

This schedule marks an important step in the process leading up to the Panchayat elections, with the reservation process aimed at ensuring fair representation across all levels of Panchayat governance.
