Chhattisgarh

In a significant reshuffling of administrative responsibilities, the Chhattisgarh government has made key changes to top bureaucratic roles following the return of senior IAS officer Amit Kataria from central deputation.

Appointment of Amit Kataria

Amit Kataria, IAS (2004 batch), has been appointed as the Secretary of the Department of Public Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education. This assignment is effective until further orders.

With Kataria assuming charge, Manoj Kumar Pingua, IAS (1994 batch), who currently serves as the Additional Chief Secretary of Home and Jail Departments and held additional charge of Public Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, will now be relieved of the latter responsibility. However, his other assignments remain unchanged.

Additional Responsibilities for Mukesh Kumar Bansal

Mukesh Kumar Bansal, IAS (2005 batch), presently serving as the Secretary of the Finance Department with additional responsibilities for General Administration and Commercial Taxes (excluding Excise and Registration) as well as Chairman of the Pension Resolution Committee, has been given an additional charge as Secretary to the Honorable Chief Minister.

Impact of the Changes

These changes reflect the state government’s focus on streamlining departmental functions and ensuring specialized attention to key sectors such as public health, family welfare, and medical education.

With these appointments, the government aims to enhance administrative efficiency and address critical public service needs. Further orders regarding the reshuffling and additional responsibilities are expected to follow.
