Chhattisgarh Finance Minister OP Choudhary has written letters to various department ministers regarding the slow expenditure of budget allocations for the 2024-25 fiscal year. The letters, addressed to five ministers, urge them to expedite the utilization of funds. Choudhary emphasized that the budget spending is not aligned with the intended pace, and capital expenditure goals for each quarter are not being met, which impacts the continuity of projects and the economy's momentum.

In his letters, Choudhary outlined that the capital expenditure targets for each quarter are essential for the economy's growth and project sustainability. He suggested that the timely execution of approved projects and regular monitoring could help achieve these goals. He also highlighted the importance of timely payments to contractors for construction work, ensuring the quality and timely completion of projects. This approach, he mentioned, would reduce tender rates in the future and help generate employment while boosting the economy.

In a letter to Home Minister Vijay Sharma, Choudhary pointed out that the capital expenditure in Sharma's department is significantly lower compared to the previous year. Similarly, in letters to Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Urban Administration Minister Arun Sao, and Health Minister Shyambihari Jaiswal, Choudhary highlighted the low spending against budget provisions in their respective departments. He reiterated that consistent capital expenditure and proper supervision are critical for creating employment and boosting the economy.
