Chhattisgarh Develops New Software to Bring Government Schemes Directly to People's Doorsteps

Chhattisgarh

In a groundbreaking move aimed at streamlining governance and eliminating bureaucratic hurdles, Chhattisgarh is developing a new software that will revolutionize the way citizens access government benefits. With this software, there will no longer be a need for people to visit government offices. Instead, the government will reach out to citizens directly at their homes, and all essential documents, including caste certificates, will be generated automatically based on the father's caste.

The new system, called Integrated Proactive E-Governance, is being developed by CHiPS (Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society). This software will create an e-record for every child at birth, which will be automatically updated as they grow, with all necessary certificates linked to their Aadhaar number.

How the Software Will Benefit Citizens:

E-Records from Birth: Once a child is born, their e-record will be created, including details such as name, age, and parent’s names. The child's caste certificate will also be generated automatically based on the father's caste. As the child grows, all future documents, such as school admission details, exam certificates, and even competitive exam forms, will be automatically filled by the system using their thumbprint.

No Need for Office Visits: Citizens will no longer need to visit government offices for schemes or certificates. The software will ensure that the government identifies eligible individuals and informs them directly. For instance, women eligible for the Mahatari Vandan Yojana will be identified by the software, and the government will transfer the benefits directly to their bank accounts using their thumbprint for authentication.

Simplified Document Management: The software will integrate 25 different certificates that people typically need throughout their lives into an e-locker. These certificates, including caste, birth, education, and others, will be automatically updated and stored. Individuals will no longer need to visit offices for reissuance, as all documents will be available digitally. \

Faster Government Services: The new software will also help in identifying gaps in services. For example, children who have missed vaccinations will be identified, and the government will ensure they receive their rightful benefits and services.

Reduced Corruption and Bureaucratic Hurdles: With the elimination of physical paperwork and in-person visits, the software is expected to reduce corruption and make government services more efficient.

The software, currently under development, is expected to be implemented within the next 18 months. Once operational, it will ensure a seamless experience for citizens, offering them access to government schemes without the usual red tape.

As Prabhat Malik, CEO of CHiPS, explains, “With this initiative, the government will bring services directly to the people’s doorsteps, making governance more proactive and efficient.”
