Chhattisgarh cracks down on hospitals violating regulations, fines Jai Ambe Multispecialty
Under the Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana and the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Ayushman Health Scheme, regular action is being taken by the Chhattisgarh State Nodal Agency against hospitals violating the regulations. Recently, action has been taken against two hospitals in the capital, Raipur, and one private hospital in Dondi Lohara.
The agency received complaints about hospitals blocking unnecessary packages, misusing IPD and ICU packages, denying benefits under the scheme, and charging additional cash from patients. Based on these complaints, show-cause notices were issued to the hospitals. However, due to unsatisfactory responses or failure to respond, action was taken.
In Raipur, Jai Ambe Multispecialty Hospital was fined ₹31.32 lakh for misuse of the ICU package and has been suspended from the scheme for three months. Additionally, another private hospital in Raipur and Samata Hospital in Dondi Lohara, Balod, had their registrations canceled for blocking unnecessary packages and ignoring the orders of higher authorities.
