Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai Invites Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Bastar Olympic and Police Award Ceremony
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi today. During the meeting, CM Sai formally invited Shah to attend the closing ceremony of the Bastar Olympics and the Police Award program. The Union Home Minister graciously accepted the invitation. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma were also present at the meeting.
Focus on Anti-Naxal Achievements and Development
During the discussion, CM Sai briefed Shah about the state’s progress in anti-Naxal operations and ongoing development initiatives in the Bastar region. He emphasized the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure, education, healthcare, and employment, which have helped gain the trust of the local population and significantly weakened Maoist influence.
The Chief Minister highlighted the collaborative efforts of the state government and security forces, which have led to a sharp decline in Naxal-related incidents in Bastar. “Bastar is steadily moving towards becoming Naxal-free, and with sustained efforts, we aim to achieve this goal by 2026,” said CM Sai. He also informed the Home Minister about priority initiatives for the rehabilitation of surrendered Naxalites and affected families.
Under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, construction of 15,000 houses is underway to provide safe and dignified living conditions to displaced families.
Bastar Olympics: A Symbol of Unity and Development
CM Sai apprised Shah of the significance of the Bastar Olympics, describing it as a key initiative promoting peace and progress in the region. “This event, involving over 1.65 lakh young participants, has become a powerful platform to foster unity and positivity through sports,” the Chief Minister said.
The Bastar Olympics includes 11 traditional sports such as hockey, football, kabaddi, and volleyball, aimed at uniting youth and strengthening community bonds. “These games are a symbol of the new wave of development in previously Naxal-affected areas,” he added.
Delegation Accompanying the Chief Minister
Deputy CM Arun Sao, Vijay Sharma, and Cabinet Minister Kedar Kashyap accompanied CM Sai on his Delhi visit. The meeting with Shah marks a significant step in advancing both security and developmental objectives for Chhattisgarh, with the Bastar region at the heart of these efforts.
CM Sai expressed confidence in the ongoing initiatives, stating that the combined impact of security measures and grassroots development will lead to a lasting transformation in the region.
