Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap emphasized the immense potential for tourism in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, attributing their natural beauty and rich mineral resources to the blessings of Lord Jagannath. Speaking at the “Chalo Dekhein Apna Desh” Tourism Conclave organized by a private news channel in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Minister Kashyap highlighted the cultural and natural wealth of both states and the steps being taken to promote tourism in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision.

Chhattisgarh and Odisha: A Unique Bond

Minister Kashyap underscored the deep socio-cultural and economic ties between Chhattisgarh and Odisha, describing their relationship as one of "Roti-Beti" (symbolizing familial and cultural connections). He noted that Lord Jagannath has been a unifying force for the people of both states, fostering shared traditions and mutual respect.

He further pointed out that Chhattisgarh’s Bastar Baada in Jagannath Puri has long served as a place of stay for pilgrims from Chhattisgarh visiting the temple. This bond, according to Kashyap, enhances the opportunities for collaborative tourism development between the two states.

Tourism Highlights and Development Efforts

Minister Kashyap highlighted the distinct tourism attractions of Chhattisgarh and Odisha, such as:

Odisha: Known for its stunning coastline, including some of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

Chhattisgarh: Famous for Bastar’s world-renowned Dussehra festival and unique tribal culture.

Efforts are being made to enhance tourism facilities in both states, making it easier for tourists to explore these destinations. Kashyap invited tourism enthusiasts to experience the beauty of these states, which are rich in cultural heritage and natural splendor.

Promoting Regional Tourism

The conclave, aimed at boosting tourism and highlighting local attractions in Odisha, served as a platform to discuss strategies for sustainable tourism development. Minister Kashyap emphasized that tourism can play a crucial role in showcasing the unique identity of Chhattisgarh and Odisha while also contributing to economic growth.

With their shared heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and religious significance, the two states are well-positioned to attract both domestic and international tourists. This partnership, rooted in cultural and historical ties, is expected to open new avenues for regional tourism in the years to come.
