Bomb Threat at RBI: Email in Russian Language Triggers Investigation

Bomb Threat

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) received a bomb threat via email on Friday, written in Russian, prompting swift action by authorities.

Details of the Incident

The threat was reported to the Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Marg (MRA Marg) police station in Mumbai, where a case has been registered against the unknown sender.

Law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the matter to trace the source of the email and assess the credibility of the threat.

Previous Incident Raises Concerns

This is the second such incident in recent weeks. On November 16, a similar threat was made to the RBI’s customer care number. In that instance, the caller, claiming to be the "CEO of Lashkar-e-Taiba," sang a song before issuing the bomb threat.

Security Measures and Investigation

The latest threat has heightened security concerns, prompting an intensified investigation. Authorities are coordinating with cybersecurity experts to decode the email, identify its origin, and ensure the safety of the RBI premises.

Officials have reassured the public that all necessary precautions are being taken to address the situation. Further updates are awaited as the investigation progresses.
