The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reached a major milestone in Chhattisgarh, crossing the 60 lakh membership mark as part of its ongoing membership drive. The drive, which commenced on September 2, 2024, was kicked off with national party president JP Nadda enrolling Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the first member.

Following him, several key leaders, including BJP president Jagat Prakash Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, also joined the party. The membership campaign, named “Sangathan Parv, Membership Campaign 2024,” received a grand reception across the country, with Chhattisgarh seeing a particularly enthusiastic response. State BJP president, Kiran Singh Dev, started the campaign by enrolling Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai as the first member from the state.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed immense pride and happiness in the success of the membership campaign in Chhattisgarh. He congratulated all party workers and leaders involved in the drive. “It is a matter of great pride that the BJP family in Chhattisgarh has now surpassed 60 lakh members. We are determined to work with dedication, contributing to the development of the nation,” CM Sai stated.

The membership drive began on September 3, 2024, in Chhattisgarh, with the Chief Minister being the first to officially join the BJP under the campaign. Speaking on the occasion, CM Sai emphasized that being part of the world’s largest political organization is a source of immense pride. We will continue to work for the welfare of the public, and for the vision of 'One India, Great India.'"

Chhattisgarh's BJP Surpasses 60 Lakh Members: A Historic Achievement

With this remarkable achievement, Chhattisgarh now boasts one of the largest political memberships in the world. CM Vishnu Dev Sai welcomed all new members into the BJP family, calling them committed partners in the nation's growth. "I extend a warm welcome to all 60 lakh members who are now part of the BJP family and are committed to contributing to nation-building," said CM Sai.

Digital-First Strategy for Membership Campaign

The BJP’s membership drive has seen widespread participation, with party leaders and workers using various digital platforms to enroll members. The campaign leveraged missed calls, the Namo app, the BJP website, and QR codes to ensure maximum reach. According to party guidelines, individuals can hold membership for a period of five years. After six years, they need to re-enroll to maintain their membership status.

This membership drive, conducted every five years, continues to strengthen the BJP’s roots in Chhattisgarh, ensuring that the party’s influence and support grow as it seeks to contribute to the country's progress in the years to come.
