Biker Gang Strikes Twice in a Day, Elderly Women Become Victims of Chain Snatching in City

Biker Gang

In a shocking series of crimes, bikers have carried out two chain-snatching incidents in a single day, with elderly women becoming the targets. The incidents occurred in different areas of the city, highlighting the rising audacity of criminals, as reports of knife attacks and robberies continue to surface. The police have launched an investigation, using CCTV footage from the crime scenes to track down the perpetrators.

The first incident took place near the Digambar Jain Temple in Vaishali Nagar at 6:30 AM. Seventy-two-year-old Taramani Jain, a resident of Ward 20, was on her way to the temple when two masked youths on a motorcycle approached her. Pretending to ask for directions to a lawyer’s office, the duo struck up a conversation with Taramani and, in a swift move, snatched a gold chain weighing approximately two tolas from around her neck before fleeing the scene.

Just moments after this attack, the same bikers targeted a second elderly woman in Ward 14, Chandranagar. The 70-year-old woman, who was plucking flowers, was approached by the same suspects, who once again asked her for directions. After a brief exchange, the criminals grabbed her gold mangalsutra and sped away.

Criminals Captured on CCTV

Upon receiving reports of the incidents, the police immediately reviewed the CCTV footage from the surrounding areas. The footage revealed that both crimes were committed by the same group of criminals. CSP Satya Prakash Tiwari of Vaishali Nagar stated that based on the CCTV evidence, police teams are actively working to apprehend the suspects. He assured the public that the criminals would be caught soon.

The recent chain-snatching incidents have raised concerns about the growing boldness of criminals in the city, with authorities pledging to take swift action to ensure the safety of residents, particularly the elderly.
