Bijapur

In a shocking incident, a villager was reportedly abducted at gunpoint from a weekly market in the Naxal-affected Bijapur district, creating panic in the area. The incident occurred in the Gangloor police station area, where unidentified individuals allegedly kidnapped the man using pistols and knives and fled towards the forest.

Details of the Incident

The abduction took place on Sunday during the weekly market in Reddy village. According to eyewitness accounts, a group of 4-5 unidentified men arrived at the market armed with pistols and knives. They forcibly abducted a young man and disappeared into the nearby forest. It is suspected that the kidnappers might be members of the Naxalites' Small Action Team.

While the police have been informed, they have yet to confirm whether Naxalites are responsible for the abduction or if it was carried out by another group. Efforts are underway to locate the abducted individual.
