Bihar: Tension Escalates After CO and Police Station Head Clash in Sitamarhi

Police

Sitamarhi, Bihar: The conflict between the Circle Officer (CO) Moni Kumari and Police Station Head (SHO) Rajkumar Gautam at the Parihar Police Station in Sitamarhi has taken a serious turn, with new videos surfacing and sparking further controversy.

The incident, which initially involved a heated argument over the destruction of alcohol, turned into a physical altercation, and now a new video showing the CO allegedly locked inside the police station has gone viral, adding fuel to the fire. The dispute began earlier this week during a confrontation over the disposal of confiscated alcohol, leading to an intense argument between the two officials.

The argument soon escalated into a violent exchange, with the CO reportedly hitting the SHO with slippers, while the SHO slapped the CO. A video of this incident quickly spread on social media, attracting widespread attention. However, the situation has now worsened.

A new video, released on Saturday, shows the CO locked inside the police station, visibly emotional and crying. It is claimed that the SHO, under orders, had the CO confined within the station, further aggravating the already tense situation. The Bihar CO Association has strongly condemned the actions of the Police Station Head, demanding immediate disciplinary action.

The association has stated that, until the SHO is held accountable, no CO will attend public grievance redressal sessions related to land disputes in any district of Bihar. The earlier altercation prompted intervention from senior district officials, including District Magistrate (DM) Richa Pandey and Superintendent of Police (SP) Manoj Kumar Tiwari, who rushed to Parihar Police Station to calm the situation.

Despite their efforts, the incident has now spiraled, with the new video adding to the already volatile situation. The Bihar CO Association has called for swift action against SHO Rajkumar Gautam, insisting that such behavior is unacceptable. They have also announced that COs across the state will refrain from attending any public hearing or 'Janata Darbar' related to land disputes until the matter is resolved.

This incident has not only sparked anger within the CO community but has also raised concerns about the growing tensions between police officers and government officials in Bihar. The public and political response to the incident is expected to intensify as investigations continue.
