Big Employment Centric Initiative, Chhattisgarh govt to upgrade 160 ITIs
Under the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, 160 ITIs in Chhattisgarh are being upgraded to Model ITIs to connect the state's youth with employment opportunities. The Department of Employment and Training has approved a budget of ₹484.22 crores for this project. After the upgrade, these Model ITIs will provide training to youth according to the demands of local industries.
Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma has hailed this upgrade as a significant achievement for the youth of the state. He mentioned that the plan to upgrade the ITIs to Model ITIs has been developed in line with the vision of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. In the first phase of the project, a three-year proposal worth ₹484.22 crores has been approved for 160 ITIs across the state. Work will soon begin to transform the ITI in Sakri, Balodabazar, into a Model ITI. For this, an amount of ₹20.13 crores has been sanctioned under the SIDBI scheme.
Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma further elaborated that various trades and infrastructure at the ITI in Sakri, Balodabazar will be upgraded. A total of ₹3.23 crores has been allocated for machine tools and equipment in the Government Industrial Training Institute. This includes ₹1.05 crores for computer hardware and network maintenance, ₹75 lakhs for electricians, ₹46 lakhs for fitters, ₹44 lakhs for diesel mechanics, and ₹53 lakhs for welders. Additionally, ₹3.44 crores have been sanctioned for new building construction, ₹7.42 lakhs for a guard room, ₹1.25 crores for vehicle parking, ₹11.78 crores for staff quarters, and ₹34.80 lakhs for the construction of an entrance gate and boundary wall.
