Bhopal Double Murder Case: ASI Arrested for Killing Wife and Sister-in-Law, Reveals Motive

Murder

In a chilling incident from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), identified as Yogesh Maravi, has been arrested for the brutal murder of his wife and sister-in-law. The accused, who had fled the crime scene, was apprehended in Mandla.

Details of the Incident

The murders occurred in the Aishbagh area of Bhopal, where the ASI's wife, Vinita Maravi, was living with her sister. The ASI stabbed both women to death in a fit of rage and fled.

Arrest and Investigation

The accused, posted in Mandla, was caught during a routine vehicle check by the Pindrai police in the Nainpur police station area. He was detained at Pindrai outpost, and a team from Bhopal is expected to take him into custody for further interrogation.

Motive Behind the Murders

The marital dispute between the ASI and his wife had been ongoing for a long time. The couple had been living apart due to escalating tensions. Reports suggest that the wife was contemplating divorce, which enraged the ASI and led to the murder. While the motive behind killing the sister-in-law remains unclear, investigators are probing whether she was a witness or an unintended target.

Rashmi Dubey, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), revealed that CCTV footage confirmed the ASI’s involvement. "The primary reason appears to be the long-standing issues in their marriage," she said, adding that tensions had escalated significantly in recent months.

Ongoing Investigation

The police are piecing together details about the ASI's movements before and after the crime. Further questioning will focus on the motive for the sister-in-law's murder and any other underlying factors contributing to the crime. This tragic case has shocked the community, shedding light on the devastating consequences of unresolved domestic disputes. The investigation continues as authorities prepare to bring the accused to justice.
