Bangladeshi Parliamentarian’s murder, body not found, police now arrests butcher

West Bengal CID arrests one person in connection with the mysterious death of Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim. The said person is a butcher, identified as Jihad Hawladar, resident of Khulna, Bangladesh who was reportedly living illegally in Mumbai. It is believed that he was specially hired to murder the MP.

The Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim was found dead in Newton town of Kolkata. He came to Kolkata for treatment but had gone missing days ago. Search Ops were on to trace him after a complaint for a missing person was lodged.

According to sources and local media reports reports, the murder was orchestrated by a US citizen of Bangladeshi origin, named Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman, locally known as Shaheen, who the law enforcement in West Bengal, India, believe is a key suspect in the case.
The Bangladeshi media is reporting that Anwarul Azim and Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman were running an illegal gold business in Kolkata. It was very recently that they had a fall out over business matters which led to Akhtaruzzaman conspiring to kill the Azim.
As Anwarul Azim arrived to Kolkata on May 12 for treatment, his body was found butchered at an apartment in Newton town and the local law enforcement has said that it was premeditated killing.
