"Bangladeshi infiltrators have entered Jharkhand...", alleges Champai Soren after filing of nomination

Former CM Champai Soren files nomination as BJP candidate for Seraikela, confidently predicting BJP's victory and pledging justice for Jharkhand’s natives and tribals amid infiltration concerns; Ganesh Mahli, now JMM candidate, joins as his opponent in a closely watched assembly election race.

After filing his nomination as BJP candidate from Saraikella, former CM Champai Soren says, "Victory is certain." He further says, "Bangladeshi infiltrators have entered Jharkhand and only the BJP can do justice to the natives and tribals of the state...BJP will win the 81 seats."

Seraikela is set for an intense face-off as Ganesh Mahli, a former BJP member now with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), contests against Champai Soren, who recently left JMM to join BJP. Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, JMM, under Hemant Soren's leadership, announced Mahli for Seraikela and Ramsurya Munda for Khunti in a candidate list released on Thursday, October 24.

The Seraikela seat contest is particularly significant as both candidates have switched party affiliations. Mahli, having resigned from the BJP after being denied a ticket, cited a lack of recognition despite his 25 years of service. He indirectly criticized Soren, alleging that new party members were dominating decisions, prompting his move to JMM.

Champai Soren, a former Jharkhand Chief Minister, filed his nomination as the BJP candidate, declaring that a wave in favor of BJP is sweeping the Kolhan region and the state, positioning them as the next government. Jharkhand’s assembly elections are scheduled in two phases on November 13 and 20, with results expected on November 23.
