Balodabazaar violence

In connection with the violence that occurred in Baloda Bazar, Chhattisgarh, MLA Devendra Yadav was arrested by Baloda Bazar police from his residence Saturday afternoon. Following his arrest, the police transported him to Baloda Bazar. Late at night, he was presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Rajesh Khakha's court, where the court ordered that he be sent to Central Jail on judicial remand. Reports indicate that the legislator has been placed on a 7-day judicial remand.

After 10 hours of intense efforts, the police finally arrested Bhilai Nagar MLA Devendra Yadav on Saturday, bringing him to the Ajka Police Station at the Baloda Bazar Police Line. From there, under heavy police escort, he was taken to the court, where he was presented before the CJM. Outside the court, a large number of supporters and party officials staged protests, chanting slogans against the state government and the police.

There were also clashes between the police and supporters at the court gate. The police, wary of the confrontation during his arrest in Bhilai Nagar, deployed a significant force in front of the District and Sessions Court and the Police Control Room. It is worth noting that during Yadav's arrest, there was a scuffle between the police and his supporters. After his arrest, Devendra Yadav stated that they would fight this battle constitutionally. He called the arrest a conspiracy and reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for the Satnami community.

A team of police from Baloda Bazar arrived in Bhilai Saturday morning, where they were met with resistance from Yadav's supporters, who surrounded his house and prevented the police from entering. Despite protests throughout the day, the police took him into custody in the evening. Earlier, State Congress President Deepak Baij visited Yadav at his residence, and Yadav was also able to speak with former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
