A plot to bomb an Army special train in Madhya Pradesh was foiled on September 18. The train was targeted with 10 detonators in an attempt to derail it. The conspiracy was discovered after loud explosions were heard as the train passed over the detonators. The alert train driver immediately stopped the train and informed the station master, preventing a major disaster. The incident took place near Sagfata in the Nepanagar Assembly area.

Authorities from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), National Investigation Agency (NIA), railway officials, and police conducted an investigation at the site. Due to the involvement of the army, officials have maintained secrecy regarding the case.

The 10 detonators were placed between utility poles 537/5 and 537/3, a short distance from Sagfata Railway Station on the Central Railway’s Bhusawal Division. The train, traveling from Jammu and Kashmir to Karnataka, narrowly escaped disaster thanks to the driver’s quick response.

This incident is part of a worrying trend, as similar attempts to derail trains have occurred in various parts of India, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. Investigators suspect a possible connection to a terrorist sleeper cell, but further details remain undisclosed due to the sensitive nature of the investigation.
