“…atrocities by Razakars…”, actor speaks on upcoming ‘Razakar’ movie, BJP candidate issues video message

On his upcoming film ‘Razakar’, actor-writer Makarand Deshpande explains, “…The army of Hyderabad’s Mir Osman Ali Pasha was called ‘Razakar’. They were his private army. Within 396 days after independence, they unleashed atrocities on people who opposed them. They wanted Hyderabad to become Turkistan…The centre of the film is the atrocities by Razakars. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel won over the Nizam and merged Hyderabad with India…I play the role of Mir Osman Ali Pasha’s role – the last Nizam (of the Princely State of Hyderabad)…”

Makarand Deshpande plays the enigmatic Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan, a figure of power and controversy, wielding influence as his weapon in the saga of Razakar !

Multiple BJP leaders including Hyderabad candidate, Madhavi Lata, have endorsed the movie. That the film is being released amid the ongoing election season, conveys the larger message being sent to the masses.
