Army uncovers large cache of weapons, explosives, concealed under tree roots

The seizure includes AK-47 rounds, hand grenades, RPG rounds, materials for improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and other military equipment.
On September 11, security forces uncovered a substantial quantity of ammunition and explosives based on specific intelligence information. A joint operation by the army and Jammu and Kashmir police was conducted in the Keran sector of Kupwara. The search led to the recovery of a massive stockpile of weapons and explosives, crucial given the current security situation and upcoming significant events in the Union Territory.
This intelligence, received from a special election observer stationed in Jammu and Kashmir, has helped avert a major incident in northern Kashmir. The security forces remain committed to maintaining stability and peace in the region.
In a separate operation on Wednesday, the army’s Special Forces and Jammu and Kashmir police eliminated three militants in an operation in Kathua district. Sources indicate that the search operation against militants is ongoing, involving the 1 Para Brigade, 22 Garhwal Rifles, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Union Territory police.
