Anwar Dhebar being brought back to Raipur, ED likely to question him
In a major development, Anwar Dhebar and AP Tripathi are being brought from Meerut jail to Raipur for questioning in connection with the liquor scam and fake hologram case.
Both will be presented in court on Thursday. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will take them on remand for further interrogation. They are being transported in a prison van equipped with CCTV cameras, voice recorders, and GPS, monitored by officials.
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) had previously arrested Anwar for the liquor scam and sent him to Raipur jail on judicial remand after questioning. Upon his release on bail from the High Court on June 19, Anwar was immediately re-arrested by the Uttar Pradesh STF team on a production warrant and taken with them, along with AP Tripathi, who was also on judicial remand. Both had been in Meerut jail since then. Besides these two, there are other accused in the fake hologram case registered in Noida.
Anwar Dhebar was previously taken to Meerut for questioning in this case based on a production warrant. Now, the ED will interrogate him regarding the liquor scam.
