Another Soldier in Chhattisgarh Commits Suicide, Shoots Himself While Asleep

Bastar Fighters Battalion soldier Harilal Nag, who committed suicide in Chhattisgarh, sparking concerns over mental health issues in the security forces.

In a tragic incident from Keshkal in Chhattisgarh’s Kondagaon district, a Bastar Fighters Battalion soldier, Harilal Nag, reportedly took his own life by shooting himself with his service pistol while in bed. This incident has been confirmed by SP Y Akshay Kumar, with local authorities conducting an ongoing investigation.

According to reports, Nag, a resident of Barda village, was stationed at Dhanora police station. He had returned to his village to gather information on potential Naxal activities and reportedly ended his life during his visit. Following the incident, officers from Urandabeda police station arrived at the scene, recovering the pistol and Nag's mobile phone. SDOPs Anil Vishwakarma from Farsgaon and Bhupat Singh from Keshkal also visited the site as part of the investigation.

This tragic case marks the seventh incident of suicide among security personnel in the region within the last two months, including deaths among SSB constables and CRPF head constables. These recurring incidents have raised serious concerns about mental health and stress management within the forces.
