Amit Shah predicts who Prime Minister will be in 2029, asserts stability of current government
Union Home Minister Amit Shah confidently declared that the NDA government will not only complete its current term but will also come to power again in 2029. Speaking at a gathering in Chandigarh, Shah criticized the opposition for questioning the longevity of the NDA government.
"I assure you (the people), let the opposition create a fuss, you do not worry. In 2029, the NDA will return, and Narendra Modi ji will come back as Prime Minister," Shah stated.
Shah dismissed the opposition's claims about winning elections, pointing out that the BJP secured more seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections than the Congress did in the last three elections combined. In 2024, the BJP won 240 seats, while the Congress increased its tally from 52 to 99. The NDA, including allies like Nitish Kumar's JDU, Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, holds 291 seats, surpassing the majority mark by 19 seats.
Addressing the INDIA bloc's speculation about the NDA's term completion, Shah said, "Not only will this government complete its five-year term, but the next term will also belong to this government. Be ready to sit in opposition and learn to work effectively in that role."
Shah praised the Modi government’s achievements over the past decade, highlighting key initiatives like surgical and air strikes, the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, infrastructure development, and the modernization of railway stations.
During his Chandigarh visit, Shah also inaugurated the Manimajra water supply project and launched systems like e-evidence, Nyay Setu, Nyay Shruti, and e-summon. "People have trusted Narendra Modi’s leadership for a third time. Let the opposition create noise, but be assured that in 2029, the NDA will return to power," he reiterated.
