Indian Trade and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal visited Tesla’s state of the art manufacturing facility at Fremont, California, while on US visit.
“Extremely delighted to see talented Indian engineers & finance professionals working at Senior positions and contributing to Tesla’s remarkable journey to transform mobility”, he wrote on X platform.
Goyal highlighted that he was happy to see the growing importance of Auto component suppliers from India in the Tesla EV supply chain while adding that the company is on its way to double its components imports from India.
This visit assumes significance amid speculations that Tesla manufacturing might make an entry into India as early as next year as the country of over a billion people is headed for a transition from fossil fuel to electric mobility.
