Andhra Pradesh government has suspended three IPS officers, including a Director General, following an investigation into actress and model Kadambini Jethwani's allegations. Jethwani had accused police officials of "hastily arresting" her and "harassing" her in connection with a case.

Kadambini Jethwani, a 28-year-old model and actress, was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, into a Hindu Sindhi Jethwani family. Her father, Narendra Kumar, is a merchant navy officer, and her mother, Asha, is an economics gold medalist and manager at the Reserve Bank of India. Kadambini received her education from elite institutions in Ahmedabad, including Prakash Higher Secondary School, Mount Carmel High School, and Udgam School. She also achieved a Bharatnatyam Visharad at the age of 12. Academically outstanding, she topped her higher secondary exams and earned an MBBS degree from the prestigious Shri M.N.H.L. Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad.

The Andhra Pradesh government took significant action following Jethwani's complaint. The accused officers include former Intelligence Chief P. Sitaram Anjaneyulu (DG rank), former Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kranti Rana Tata (IG rank), and former Deputy Police Commissioner Vishal Gunny (SP rank). Jethwani alleged that during the previous government, these officials threatened severe consequences for not withdrawing a case against a top official in Mumbai.

In early August, Jethwani lodged a complaint with the NTR District Police Commissioner, claiming that YSR Congress Party leader and film producer K.V. Vidyasagar Rao had made false accusations against her involving fraud and extortion. She accused the police of taking swift and unjust actions, including the illegal detention of her and her father in Vijayawada for three days, followed by their presentation in court where they were granted bail. Jethwani also alleged mental harassment by the police officers.
