Adani Group Denies U.S. Allegations, Asserts Commitment to Compliance

Adani

The Adani Group has categorically denied allegations made by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against directors of Adani Green Energy, calling them “baseless.” A spokesperson for the group issued a statement emphasizing the company’s adherence to legal and ethical standards.

“As stated by the U.S. Department of Justice itself, the charges in the indictment are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty,” the spokesperson highlighted. “All possible legal recourse will be sought to address these claims.”

Commitment to Governance and Compliance

The Adani Group reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of governance, transparency, and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions in which it operates.

“We are a law-abiding organization and fully compliant with all applicable laws. We assure our stakeholders, partners, and employees of our steadfast commitment to ethical business practices,” the spokesperson added.

Context of the Allegations

The statement comes in response to charges leveled by the DOJ and SEC, accusing Adani Green Energy directors of involvement in a bribery scheme aimed at securing solar energy contracts. These charges are currently allegations, and the defendants are entitled to due process under the law.

The Adani Group has vowed to defend its reputation and operations, signaling its intent to challenge the allegations vigorously through legal channels.

The group’s response underscores its focus on maintaining stakeholder confidence and mitigating the potential impact of these allegations on its global operations.
