Actress and Parliamentarian lands in legal controversy, gets Rs 40 crore defamation notice
Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has found herself embroiled in a legal controversy after sharing a morphed image of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on social media. The controversial post has led to a defamation notice worth Rs 40 crore being filed against her.
The incident occurred when Kangana took a jab at Gandhi's comments on the caste census during a recent Parliament session. She shared a doctored photo of Gandhi, depicting him wearing a skull cap, a cross around his neck, and sporting a turmeric and vermillion tilak on his forehead. Alongside the image, she wrote, "Jaati jivi jise bina jaati pooche jaati ganana karani hai" (One who wishes to hold a caste census without asking anyone's caste).
The morphed image and accompanying caption have sparked outrage, resulting in legal action against the Bollywood star-turned-politician.
