Acid thrown on live in partner, after things went awry

A man in his sixties was arrested for allegedly throwing acid on his live-in partner in the Girgaon area of Mumbai.

It is learnt that the victim, a resident of Fanas Wadi area in Girgaon, suffered 40 per cent burns in the incident and is undergoing treatment.

The accused has been identified as Mahesh Pujari who was in a live in relationship with a woman for past more than twenty five years.

Police sources claimed that the things were not going well between the two and the woman reportedly pressurized the accused to leave her house.

Mahesh, who was out of the house for two days, came back and threw acid on the victim on Friday at 5.30 am, while she was out to fetch water.
