A Year Since Ram Lalla's Consecration: Significance of Pilgrimage During Mahakumbh

Ayodhya: It has been a year since the consecration of Ram Lalla at the grand Ram Mandir, and devotees continue to flock to Ayodhya for darshan. While the first anniversary, as per the Hindu calendar, was celebrated on January 11, 2025, the number of visitors has remained significant, especially during the ongoing Mahakumbh festivities.
Importance of Pilgrimage
During Mahakumbh Renowned astrologer and Vastu expert Gayatri Sharma, in a conversation with IANS, elaborated on the celestial alignments and the spiritual benefits of visiting the Ram Mandir during Mahakumbh. She highlighted the auspiciousness of the occasion and explained why this period holds special significance for devotees.
Auspicious Timings for Worship
According to astrologers: Today, January 22, marks the Ashtami Tithi of the Krishna Paksha in the Magha month, falling on a Wednesday, a day considered dear to Lord Ganesha. The day also aligns with Amrit Kaal (12:00 PM to 1:30 PM), a highly auspicious period for prayers and rituals.
Though this year lacks the unique planetary alignments of last year’s Pran Pratishtha (performed during Pausha Shukla Dwadasi), the ongoing Mahakumbh adds unparalleled spiritual value. It was said that while the exact conjunctions of the consecration day in 2024 are absent, Mahakumbh itself is an extraordinary event that occurs once in 144 years. Worship during this period holds immense significance.”
No Specific Timing for Darshan
It was clarified that while the consecration of a deity may require precise timing, there is no fixed "muhurat" for darshan. “The key lies in devotion and faith,” it was said, emphasizing that the blessings of Lord Ram are accessible to all, irrespective of time.
A Rare Convergence in 2025
The astrologer noted that the unique alignment of celestial events seen on January 22, 2025, will recur only after 25 years. While the present year may lack such rare conjunctions, the Mahakumbh itself provides a divine opportunity for spiritual seekers. With Ayodhya witnessing an influx of pilgrims during the Mahakumbh, the Ram Mandir stands as a beacon of faith, drawing devotees from across the globe to bask in its spiritual aura.
