Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his address to the party workers in Lahore, pointed to the stark differences between India and Pakistan since the time he had to leave the country back in year 2017.

He noted that while India in this time has reached the moon and holding G 20 meetings, Pakistan leaders are going from country to country begging for funds.

He asked the party workers to compare the difference in Pakistani situation since year 2017 when he was in power but was first jailed and allowed to leave the country on medical grounds.

Many political analysts believe that Nawaz Sharif would in time return to Pakistan and once again claim the chair of Prime Minister which is now being held by his brother, Shahbaz Sharif.

It is believed that during his time as Prime Minister, he and Indian counterpart Narendra Modi may have struck some deal which would have allowed normalization of ties and given India access to Central Asia and Russia via the Pakistan territory.

But then Pakistan Army did not like the Sharif’s moves and forced him into exile while bringing in its new favourite, Imran Khan, former cricketer turned politician.
