As the ten day long Ganeshotsav is to begin, the ‘richest’ Ganpati is already talk of the town in Mumbai. To be installed by GSB Seva Mandal for the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, the idol has been adorned with 69 kg of gold and 336 kg of silver this year.
The GSB Seva Mandal is already making news for a insurance policy worth Rs 360 crores from New India Assurance but the premium paid has not been disclosed.

Rs 38.47 Crore: All risk insurance cover for a variety of risks that includes Gold, Silver and Jewellery.
Rs 30 Crore: for The Public liability which covers Pandals, Stadiums, Devotees etc. is secured.
Rs 289.50 Crore: That covers The Personal Accident Insurance for Volunteers, Archaks, Cooks, Gadis, Chappal Stall Workers, Valet Parking Persons, Security Guards, etc
Rs 43 Lacs: The Standard Fire & Special Peril Policy for the venue premises.
