On Ganesh Chaturthi, Parliament members to assemble in Central Hall, cabinet meet today, speculations of women’s reservation bill on Wednesday

On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on Sept 19, the members of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha have been requested to assemble in the Central Hall of Parliament at 11 AM for a function to commemorate the rich legacy of the Parliament of India and resolve to make Bharat a developed Nation by 2047.

A Parliamentary bulletin to this effect has been published by P.C. Mody, who is Secretary-General of Rajya Sabha.

Meanwhile, speculations are growing that government could table Women’s Reservation Bill on Wednesday. A meeting of Union Cabinet has been convened at 6.30 pm today itself.

With elections ahead, all political parties are keen to project themselves as champion of the women’s reservation in the Parliament. It is learnt that it was a big issue raised even in the all party meet as the treasury benches is keeping its cards close to chest.
