Jewish diplomat and Israeli Consul General to South of India, Tammy Ben-Haim, shared about her visit to the Ganesh temple. She is seen offering flowers and prayers to the deity in the visual shared.
“I always felt affinity for Ganesha as he is the Hindu god of new beginnings & the remover of obstacles”, she wrote on platform X. It need be mentioned that quite a lot of foreigners develop fascination for the Hindu way of life and worship because they have been raised in entirely different set of circumstances.
That the Jewish diplomat chose to visit a Ganesh temple ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi shows that Hinduism is indeed core of soft power of India as we know it.
But it also has to be said that Israeli diplomats are one of the most hard working lot among foreign diplomats posted here in India and they are all the time effortful in creating a favourable public opinion for their country.
